PTA Newsletter 2012 April

Mission Statement:

To enhance our students’ educational experience at Greenpark School by continually improving our resources
and facilities.

Background:

Greenpark School PTA Committee is a friendly mix of Parents, Management, a Staff Representative and a BOT
Representative who meet informally on a regular monthly basis to ensure Greenpark School has involvement
from the varied needs of our students.

Parent Teachers Association
Penny Nalder (Chairperson)

My name is Penny, I am mother to Caitlin (yr5) of Greenpark School. I have been involved with Greenpark for the last 6 yrs with my son, who is now in his first year at Tauranga Intermediate. Being a full time mother gave me the opportunity to be involved with Greenpark School in a voluntary capacity which then lead me to join the PTA in 2009.I was elected as chairperson in 2010 and have just been re-elected for 2011.

The PTA is a fantastic forum to learn about our school and what goes on within it. I am very happy to be able to give something back to the school in a way of my contribution as a committee member.

The PTA encourages a strong partnership between families and school, so please feel free to come along to our meetings, you we be warmly welcomed.

Parent Teachers Association
Antonio Ramsbottom (Vice Chairperson)

Tena kotou katoa, ko Antonio toku ingoa. My name is Antonio and I am dad to Waiari (Year 5) and have been involved with the PTA since 2009. First year as a committee member then last year I was elected Vice-Chairperson and re-elected for 2011. Being involved with the PTA is a rewarding experience as we are able to assist through fundraising events for school projects and resources for our children here at Greenpark School. Work in the day makes it impossible to assist in the week days but outside of school hours I am able assist with fundraiser events which always achieve great results. Also being a part-time DJ is helpful at disco times.

Special note: It’s great to see families enjoying our school discos (a family night out and social event) and appreciate the fantastic support of our teachers and management team at these events.

Na,
Antonio Ramsbottom

Parent Teachers Association
Janet Woods (Secretary)

My name is Janet Wood and my daughter is in Year 5 this year. As a stay at home mum. I found I had a little extra time, so have been involved as a mother help since Vanessa started at Greenpark. I have done PMP, reading and spelling and most of the school trips her class has been on. I also do road patrol once a week.

This is my fourth year on the PTA and I'm the current secretary. I love being involved in the fundraisers, as not only are you giving back to the school, but also getting to know the kids and the school staff, as well as other parents.

If you see me around school, please stop and ask me how you can help. You really will enjoy it.

How can you help?

Get involved!!  Either come and join us on the Committee or if you can’t make that commitment why not become a FROG (Friends of Greenpark School) where you can be contacted for occasional help by the Committee - every little bit helps.

How do I join?
